Chapter 21: Speechless

Chapter 21: No Words Can Say

This sleepless night, I knew it was near dawn, and I fell asleep in a daze.

In the morning, I vaguely opened my eyes and saw Xiaoxian beside me, who seemed to have been waiting for a long time. I smiled slightly at her: "Good morning!"

Xiao Qian suddenly rushed forward and threw herself into my arms: "A few days ago, Leng Jie took you away. Was she mean to you? I was so worried!"

I stroked Xiaoxian's head and comforted her: "It's okay, your mistress is fine."

But helped Leng girl "wash" a few clothes, "chop" a pile of firewood, and just took a look at the door!

Thinking of this, I still can't help but chuckle. Little Qian heard me say that and raised her head, with a face full of grievance: "Does the mistress always make people worry like this?"

I was taken aback, and a phrase that sounded very similar echoed in my ears -

"You always don't let me have a peace of mind!" The gentle tone almost made me sink in. I forced myself back to reality and managed to reveal a carefree smile: "Xiao Qian, I'm hungry."

Xiao Qian burst into tears and laughed, thinking that the lady was really good, carefree and worry-free, even if her husband treated herself like this, she would always be indifferent...

He nodded and got up to prepare breakfast.

When I was putting on my clothes, Xiao Qian happened to be walking in with a bowl of porridge.

I smiled sweetly at her and exclaimed in a tone of utmost surprise: "Wow, it's egg drop soup!"

Xiao Qian's heart couldn't help but feel a hint of bitterness: as the wife, being able to eat breakfast in the mansion was already quite fortunate. But why did Madam seem so content and carefree about everything, yet somehow manage to evoke feelings of sympathy from her?

I bowed my head and savored the sweet and delicious egg drop porridge, thinking that this ancient times was indeed unpolluted, even the porridge was not inferior to KFC, and there was an extra hint of light fragrance, yeah, not bad.

I quickly finished a bowl of porridge, and with a satisfied sigh, I lay on the table not wanting to move. Alas, after eating my fill, I've become lazy and don't want to move. Why am I becoming more and more like a pig?

Suddenly, I got up and pouted at Xiaoxian, saying: "Xiaoxian, I want to eat Osmanthus cake!"

Xiao Qian had a headache: this osmanthus cake was something that had to be bought outside the mansion.

Seeing her unwilling face, I pulled her sleeve and coquettishly said: "Just go!"

"Alright, alright, I'll go and come back." Xia Qian finally couldn't bear the sound of my nagging and nodded in agreement.

"I knew Xiang was the best to me." I smiled sweetly.

Xiao Qian again instructed me a few words, such as "it's getting cold, you should add more clothes" and then left. I thought to myself, why is she becoming more and more nagging? As I thought this, the corners of my mouth curved up slightly, but my eyes became even colder than before.

I lowered my head to play with the teacup, and as expected, footsteps approached on schedule.

It was as expected that this person also stepped into the house. I didn't lift my head, and the visitor said: "Does the lady know that there were assassins in the mansion yesterday?"

I quietly put down the teacup, stood up and turned my head to look at Ying Mo You in front of me, with a clear gaze: "I know." A brief response, as if unwilling to say another word.

"You still don't know, do you, madam? Yesterday's search only left your room untouched. And I had already set up an ambush within the manor, it's impossible for the assassin to have escaped during that time. Madam, how do you explain this?"

Her eyes were still as clear and pure as ever, the sunlight refracting into a kaleidoscope of colors in her limpid gaze. Without any hesitation, her vermilion lips parted: "I have nothing to say."
